Southern Management Association (SMA)—Call for Nominations: SMA Associate Webmaster
The SMA Board is soliciting nominations or applications for the appointed position of Associate Webmaster.
Position Description: The Associate Webmaster will act in accordance with policy and strategy guidelines established by the Association Officers. To accomplish these duties, the Associate Webmaster will work with the current SMA webmaster, SMA membership, officers, and other stakeholders to maintain and develop the website and electronic communication activities of the organization. The Associate Webmaster will work closely with the Webmaster to ensure that the SMA website is current and provides an effective platform for the benefit of SMA members.
The specific duties of the Associate Webmaster may include but are not limited to:
1. Ensure the website is functioning properly.
2. Update the site with information provided by the leadership team using a content management system
3. Assisting members with the website as needed.
4. Provide technical services and information to SMA leadership as required.
Although not a voting member of the SMA Board, the Associate Webmaster will be expected to attend meetings of the SMA Board.
Term:
The SMA Board will vote to appoint an SMA member in good standing upon the recommendation of the SMA President. The initial appointment will be a 3-year term. However, the appointment may be renewed at the discretion of the Association officers in accordance with the needs of the Association. Although time commitment will vary, it will average about 2 hours per week throughout the year.
Selection Process:
The Associate Webmaster shall be chosen by the Association officers, upon nomination by a selection committee appointed by the President. The selection committee includes the Paul Johnson, Garry Adams, and James Vardaman. The candidate selection committee will consider the following criteria: a record of involvement in SMA activities and a reputation for conscientiousness and dependability. A functional understanding of website development is desired.
