#HeyDrHood! If you had one piece of advice for students or those changing careers what would it be?
Spend at least 1 hour a day posting, reading, commenting, updating your profile and studying your #socialmedia #analytics. The analytics from our posts offer invaluable information on who’s interacting with our content, where they work, and what positions they hold. For example, of the 80,000 views from one of my recent posts, I can see that about 8,000 of them were from salespersons, executives and corporate strategists. Around 15,000 were from people based in #Atlanta, #NewYork, #Texas, #WashingtonDC, #Nashville, #SanFrancisco and hashtag#Chicago. These data are valuable indicators of where I might profitably focus my engagement efforts should I choose to seek opportunities outside of my home base of hashtag#Birmingham. Also, such insights help us to better tailor our content and messaging in a way that best resonates with our audience.
If you are serious about your #professionaldevelopment, please don’t discount the power of social media as a career enhancement tool. If you’re not posting quality content on social media at least once day, you are ignoring one of the most effective career building tools we have.
People are watching. Give them something to see.
