Dr. Hood received his BS and MBA from UAB’s Collat School of Business and his PhD from the University of Alabama. He also holds a certificate in Community Health Leadership from the Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta. His research, teaching and service are focused on the effect of teamwork in areas such as strategic philanthropy, community-based innovation, organizational citizenship, and sustainability. Prior to academia, Dr. Hood enjoyed a 10 year career with BellSouth and AT&T in roles such as network engineer, systems designer and sales consultant. He serves on the boards of the Birmingham Education Foundation, the Birmingham Change Fund, the Capital Campaign for the Woodlawn Foundation, and the Green Resource Center for Alabama. Dr. Hood and his wife Robin live in Birmingham’s Bush Hills neighborhood with their 2 small daughters.
